I live on an island in michigan and yeah i pretty much hate it. Nothing happens . And since I just turned sixteen my mom can say, "Well, I don't want you driving off the island." Thank you island. You get in to trouble and everyone knows about it. I go out for a 20 minute jog and the next day I get fifteen people letting me know that they saw me running. Awesome. My favorite thing is when people find out I live on an island. Conversations usuallly go as followed and yes I do get these questions:
me: something along the lines of: I live on an island in michigan
person: WOW! You live on an Island?
me: Yupp (I just said I live on an island)
person: Hey I have a Question. Is it a tropical island?
me: Yeah, in the summer time
person: Really its not all year round?
me: I get the same weather as the rest of michigan
person: Oh. Hey I've got another question. How do you get off your Island? Do you take a barge?
me: Yeah I take a barge to the main land.
person: Really?
me: No, not really. We have bridges.
person: Oh. You really have bridges
me: Yepp (I believe, once again, I just said that)
person: So how do you get food?
me: Coconut and banana trees
person: Really?
me: Umm... no we have a grocery store. The island is just like any other city... its just surrounded by water.
person: Ohhh so how do you get the food to the store?
me: helicopter
person: Wow. Thats so cool!
me: Yes, yes it is. They can't use the bridges to bring the food because that would be too boring.
person: So what do kids do for fun on this island of yours?
me: Get off the island.
If you haven't noticed, I tend to be a very sarcastic person. Its like a second language for me.
The island isn't always bad. I mean my friends and I find it entertaining that people think that the island should have a business district. We have one street where all of the businesses are... that is our business district. It is very isolated though and there are people who think that the cities surrounding us are inferior and that they should be called outsiders. It is pretty funny how some people act. I know for a fact that I will not be living here my whole life... like my mom and many other people on the island.

First Blog
So. I don't really know how or where I am gonna start so bear with me. People say the dreams I have are crazy. They only think that because I am 16. I hate when I talk the talk but never end up walking the walk. I am a decent runner on my high school cross country team. I play trombone but people like to call it a tuba. No clue why. I like long walks on the beach and hate rude people. When something goes wrong I write about it. I used to keep a journal but now I am gonna blog. So, welcome to Life As I Know It.
